Author’s Note and February Subscriber Question Answers

Irl Hits Hard

I published my first article in three months yesterday. A combination of travelling, physical sickness, and an unexpected number of IRL problems kept me from writing in the past few months. I resumed writing a few weeks ago and have a fairly large backlog, so I’ll be able to post much more consistently from now on.

One said IRL problem is moving to Washington D.C., where I’ll be trying my best to keep machine learning free and open. If you live there and want to meet from late May onwards, please let me know!

Something that I wanted to be certain to complete was the answer to the February questions subscriber thread. They were genuinely excellent questions that could be answered at varying levels of detail. I’d appreciate feedback on whether you want longer or shorter answers.

I’ll post the May subscriber Q&A question thread next week. As with before, short answers will be visible in the comments, long answers will be in next month’s subscriber Q&A post.
