Your race-based funding in CA story reminded me of a surprising thing I saw in Manhattan Beach, CA -- apparently there is a school funding crisis there, so severe that the public middle school was planning to combine 5th and 6th grades. How could this happen in such a high tax jurisdiction? Manhattan Beach is affluent, and apparently there is a funding system in the schools that siphons money to lower performing districts in an attempt to equalize scores, with the effect being that even a minimal level of "quality" (that is, having the money to support distinct grades), is out of reach for the affluent-hence-high-performing districts. Maybe there's a story there

Yeah, it’s mostly the graphs and the overall design. The graph integrations are just not very good, and I don’t want to be copy pasting SVGs.
