Given the influx of subscribers, I expect there will more questions this time.

In monthly threads, subscribers can ask questions. I’ll leave short answers in the replies and much longer answers in a subscriber-only longpost at the end of the month. Hopefully my short answers will encourage more people to subscribe.

Punpun Straussianism 1

I want to do something fun with this one. Don’t think of this series as a purely informative post, but a kind of Alternate Reality Game in which you guys do a Straussian close reading of my Straussian close readings of various books, manga, twitter threads, etc., plus related theories. So far I’ve only mentioned Elephant in the Brain and Oyasumi Punpun, but in parts of the series I’ve already written, you can expect to see Feminism Against Progress, Shin Sekai Yori, Monster, and Meltdown. In future parts, you can reasonably expect some Girard text, more than the existing tiny bit on Persecution and the Art of Writing, 20th Century Boys, Madoka Magica, Games People Play, a few Richard Hanania posts, and maybe even Succession.

I guess this is a reading list of sorts.
